Wrist & Hand Pain

Wrist and Hand Pain

Wrist pain is often caused by sprains or fractures from sudden injuries (Falling on an outstretched hand etc) but can also originate from long-term problems such as repetitive stress, arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Because so many factors can lead to wrist pain, diagnosing the exact cause can be difficult, but an accurate diagnosis is essential for proper treatment and healing.

Treatment varies depending on the diagnosis but may include relative rest with the use of a splint or taping, massaging any overused muscles and specific rehabilitative exercises. If you’re unsure of the cause of your wrist pain, book an appointment with your physiotherapist to fully assess your issues and guide you to receiving the correct treatment.
